Starting this month, New Living is bringing experts in green building and healthy living to share their expertise at the Greenius Desk, located on our showroom floor.

If you are working on a project and could use some expert advice free of charge, stop in to see what members of our community that we endorse can do for you. Or email us your plans or ideas at, and we will match you up with the best Greenius for your project. We are located at 6111 Kirby Drive in Rice Village. Diane Alexander of Diane Alexander Designs

Tuesday, January 4th and 18th
10 AM – Noon

Diane Alexander is the founder of Diane Alexander Designs, a full
service interior design practice consists of space planning,
finishing, furnishing, and budgeting of designs for special needs
populations, educational facilities, environmental design, children’ s
specialized environments, and healthcare. Diane Alexander is a leading
voice on interior environments that are healing for humans and
address sustainablity issues.
Allison Evans of Three Branches Healthy Living
Tuesday, January 4th and 11th
1 PM – 3 PM

The built environment has major effects on nature and human health.
Three Branches Healthy Living is currently qualified in the fields of
electromagnetic radiation, indoor air quality and natural building and
remodeling. After shadowing Allison’s aunt Marilee Nelson, Three
Branches Healthy Living was founded with the goal of making Marilee’s
knowledge accessible to all. Allison is here to share her comprehensive
and wide view to creating a healthy environment and lifestyle.


Steven Deutser of Park Lane Healthy Homes
Saturday, January 8th
10 AM – Noon

Park Lane is trained in the building sciences and are dedicated to
learning as much as we can every day about how best to make a healthy
and efficient home. If you are concerned about the efficiency of your
home, and your indoor air quality, Steven will work with you to figure
out the best way to solve your problems.

Elizabeth Irvine
Sunday, January 9th and 23rd
10 AM – Noon

With twenty-five years’ experience as a health care professional, Elizabeth Irvine’s
passion lies in integrative health education. Focused on family
wellness, she encourages women to reclaim the healing wisdom in their
own body and believes when a woman changes her life for the better,
her entire family benefits.

Heather Rowell of CONTENT
Tuesday, January 11th and 25th
10 AM – Noon

While finishing her thesis at Rice University’s School of Architecture,
Heather was part of the team that developed New Living’s architectural
concept and design. She has since partnered with CONTENT, a small
design studio in Midtown with a passion for creating
meaningful architecture. CONTENT’s mission is not only to create
modern architecture within our clients’ spatial and budgetary needs,
but also to deliver a project that is accountable for, and responsive
to, the world we live in.

Jennifer Touchet of New Living
Tuesday January 11th and Saturday January 22th
1 PM to 3 PM

Jennifer Touchet, a New Living partner, has a deep commitment to
creating healthy, non-toxic environments to raise children in,
including her 3 young ones. Jennifer will be here to share her passion
and knowledge for how to create a safe and healthy indoor environment.

LaVerne Williams, AIA, LEED AP of Environment Associates
Saturday January 15
10 AM to Noon

LaVerne is an Architect, Building Ecologist, Bioneer, a LEED
Accredited Professional, and the CEO & Founder of ENVIRONMENT
ASSOCIATES, Architects & Consultants, whose pioneering green building
practice is demonstrated by over 35 Years of Leadership in creating
Healthful, High Performance Green Homes and Remodeling and other works.

Evan O’Neil of New Living
Saturday January 15th
1 PM to 3 PM

Evan O’Neil is involved in many of New Living’s social responsibility
efforts, including gaining B Corporation certification, and will be at
the Greenius desk to brainstorm and share ideas of how you can look at
new ways to make your organization more socially engaged and responsible.

Lisa Pounds of Green Plate Kids
January 29th
2 PM to 4 PM

“Green Kitchen from the Inside Out”
Lisa pounds started Green Plate Kids to provide organic, locally
sourced foods as a convenient and nutritious option for families. This
special two hour class will teach you how to make your kitchen a
healthy kitchen.
